College brings some of the best times in a person’s life – unfortunately, it can also bring some of the most stressful times. Between classes, student organizations, homework, exams, internships and more, it can all feel overwhelming sometimes. For the moments when it feels like just too much, we’ve put together a list of some of our favorite bible verses to help get you through, whether you need comfort, motivation or just a little bit of faith.

  1. For moments of uncertainty:
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.” – Proverbs 3:5-6
  2. For when you’re tired:
“Come to me, all you that are weary and are carrying heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me; for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.” – Matthew 11:28-29
  3. For motivation:
“But he said to me, ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for power is made perfect in weakness.’ So, I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may dwell in me. Therefore I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities for the sake of Christ; for whenever I am weak, then I am strong.” – 2 Corinthians 12: 9-10
  4. For moments of stress:
“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled, and do not let them be afraid.” – John 14:27
  5. For confidence:
“The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?” – Psalm 27:1

For even more encouraging words, we invite all students of the University of the Incarnate Word to join us for noon mass Monday through Friday in Our Lady’s Chapel.
