Let us Learn to Revel in Beauty
God of Peace,
During these shorter days,
we revel in both the beauty of the sunrise
and the glory of the sunset.
In these times,
as we watch the transition
of dark to light,
and light to dark,
we are reminded to pause.
To pause
during the rush of the day,
in the preparation for the coming season,
amid parties and celebrations,
in the wrapping up of another year.
To pause
and seek balance
to sense the spirit of the season.
to prepare room for the gift of the
Incarnation.
Help us, Lord,
in the cycle of this season
to take time to slow down,
and space to
“Be still and know that I am God.”
